Braille Election Building Directory

Braille ballot overlays are used by electoral authorities to assist people who have a visual impairment. Overlays are used to read candidates names or parties, and to identify the appropriate area to mark on their ballot.

Our braille ballot overlays are made of clear Mylar. The circumference bordering the marking area is printed in black to ensure the confidentiality of the visually impaired voter. As there are many types, sizes and formats of ballots, each overlay is custom-designed. The names or parties are identified using either the appropriate name or by using a numbering system. When a numbering system is used each candidate or party is assigned a number which is printed on the ballot overlay in braille and large print. A braille sheet is then provided which identifies each candidate or party with the corresponding number.

If you have any questions or require a quotation for your braille ballot overlays, please do not hesitate to contact the professionals at Terra Reproductions. Our knowledgeable staff will assist you with any questions you may have.
