Are your designated handicapped rooms accessible to the blind?

I am blind and frequently travel across North America.  I am often offered a room for persons with disabilities.  The room is always wheelchair accessible and sometimes equipped for persons with hearing difficulties.  Rarely is the room or surrounding facilities accessible for the blind.  I am not the only person who would take advantage of accessible rooms for the visually impaired; there are approximately 500,000 people in North America who are considered blind along with millions of seniors who have limited sight who would utilize large print and braille markings.

As a braille transcriber, I produce various braille tags and stickers for the hospitality industry.  Relative to the cost of making a room accessible to persons in wheelchairs, braille markings are very inexpensive.  An average room can be made completely accessible to persons with visually impairments for less than $100.00 each.

We have designed a complete line of braille markings for the hospitality industry including braille stickers and tags for;

We are working with several national agencies that represent persons with visual impairments to compile a list of accommodations which are accessible to the blind.  If you already provide such accommodations, please let us know and your facility will be added to our list of accessible accommodations.

We make your facility accessible by producing products such as braille menus, braille stickers of all sorts, braille room numbers, braille markings for thermostats microwaves and other equipment, braille "Do not disturb" door hangers, braille card keys and much more.  We also produce Tactile Maps.
