Setting
Image
setting is the process where film positives or negatives are
produced from electronic files. Through image setting we
can use your electronic file to produce film positives or
film negatives whether your file contains spot colours or
is a four colour photographic image.
Spot
Colours
Through
the image setting process, a file which contains only spot
colours, one film positive or negative is rendered for each
colour. A spot color is a single colour such as blue or green.
Pantone colours are also considered spot colours. Spot colours
can be printed solid or screened.
Four
Colour Process
Image
setting is particularly useful for producing film positives
or negatives of photographs. Photographs are produced using
four colours; cyan, magenta, yellow and black (CYMK). Through
the image setting process, each of the four colours are separated
then individual negatives and positives are produced for each
colour. When the four films are registered, a perfect photograph
is reproduced.
If you
are in the screen printing industry or require film positives
in your process, Terra will use your PostScript file to render
perfect film images quickly and inexpensively.
